SEMPORNA: The Rural and Regional Development Ministry adopts a harmonised approach to develop human capital within the rural community in the country.
Its minister Datuk Seri Mohd shafie Apdal said the ministry, besides providing basic infrastructure for the rural community such as clean water supply, electricity and roads, also collaborates with various agencies to carry out development programmes, including human capital.
“As the rural minister I am responsible for physical development of the rural community. But we will link it with human capital even though not all basic infrastructure development are under my ministry’s jurisdiction,” he said during a dinner in conjunction with the district-level teachers day here Sunday night.
He said various agencies and institutions under his ministry, including the Community Development department (Kemas), Giatmara, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara), Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) and other universities were set up to develop human capital. — Bernama
