MIRI: Sime Darby Auto Connexion Sdn Bhd, the authorised dealer of Ford range of vehicles launched the all-new 2012 Ford Ranger TDCi yesterday.
Built to be tough, with a new 4×4 double cabin from Ford, drivers are confident of its ability to take on any terrain and road.
What’s surprising is that its 2.2-litre TDCi (Turbo Diesel Commonrail Direct injection) engine can generate an amazing 150 horsepower at 3700 rpm with maximum torque of 375 Nm at 2500 rpm – which is more powerful compared to its competitors which have 2.5-litre displacements, thus making it one of the most powerful in its class.
In addition, its Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) system offers exceptional fuel economy from as low as 8.1 litre for a distance of up to 100 kilometres.
Furthermore, this is the first time Ford has come up with a new six-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Shift On-The Fly system, where drivers can also switch from two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive even on the move, even at speeds up to 120km/h.
With its payload of 1,190kg and towing capacity of 3,000kg, this new Ford Ranger is a powerful workhorse to be reckoned with.
Apart from that, it also comes with a host of latest state-of-the-art features such as cruise control, auto rain sensing wipers, USB and iPod/iPhone connectivity, auto headlamps, 4.2-inch multi-information display at the dashboard, bluetooth and voice control for the audio and mobile devices as well as safety features like ABS brakes with EBD, immobilizer, dual airbags and the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP). It comes in six new exciting colours namely Aurora Blue, Gunmetal Blue, Metropolitan Grey, Highlight Silver, Cool White and Black Mica; with on the road price of RM101,188 for individual private registration and RM101, 372 for company registration.
