Religious teacher killed in head-on crash

TUARAN: A religious school teacher from SMK Sri Nangka here was killed in a head-on collision between his Perodua Myvi car and a four-wheel-drive vehicle at Km 5.6, Jalan Sulaman yesterday.

The victim, identified as Ahmad Fauzan Madrih, 33, who suffered severe head and body injuries, died at the scene of the accident which occurred at about 2.55pm.

The driver and two passengers in the four-wheel-drive vehicle however suffered only minor injuries although the vehicle landed on its side and was badly damaged too.

It is believed that the teacher was on his way to Tuaran from the city centre when the accident occurred.

Tuaran police chief DSP Zaharudin Rasip said the case will be investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He said the victim’s body was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem and his family members had been notified.
