SIBU: The Sessions Court here yesterday adjourned the case where three individuals were charged in the murder of a bank manager in June to Oct 23, pending a chemist’s report.

Sessions Court Registrar Romie Ahmad Zaidi ordered the three accused: Ling Hang Tsyr, 31, her male friend Tiong King Guan, 26, and Ling Hoe Ing, 24, to be further remanded.

Hoe Ing is tentatively charged with murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, while Tiong and Hang Tsyr are charged with abetting the murder under Section 109 of the Penal Code, read with Section 302 and Section 34 for the common intention of the crime.

The murder charge carries a mandatory death sentence.

Tiong is represented by Orlando Chua; Hang Tsyr by Anthony Tai, Roger Chin and Sempurai Petrus Ngelai; while Hoe Ing by David Kuok.

FURTHER REMANDED: Tiong escorted from court.

On June 14, bank manager Stephen Wong was found dead in a pool of blood in the master bedroom of his house at Ulu Sg Merah Road at about 1.30am.

The pathologist’s report said the 31-year-old had slash wounds on his neck, stab wounds in the chest and stomach, and cuts on both arms.

His wife Hang Tsyr and their three-year-old son were in the house when police arrived at the scene.

RE-REMANDED: Hang Tsyr escorted from court.

Hang Tsyr reportedly told police that she woke up upon hearing her husband struggle with an intruder, and that the intruder fled when she turned on the lights.

After the court’s adjournment yesterday, the mother of the deceased broke down as she left the court room while family members consoled her.

She was overheard saying: “What a pity… the boy is only three years old and he has already lost his father.”

She told reporters that she longed to see her grandson who is under custody of Hang Tysr’s family.
