NLPS, NJS Celebrate Teacher’s Day

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: One hundred and fifty teachers of Nusa Laila Puteri School (NLPS) from the five branches in the Brunei-Muara District and Nusa Jaya School (NIS) of Kampong Keriam and Penanjong branches from the Tutong District held a Teacher’s Day and Staff Night 2012, which for a change saw teachers showcasing their talents at the school’s newest branch in Kampong jangsak, Gadong, Borneo Bulletin reported.

The function began with the welcoming speech by Dr Hajah Sharifah Noor binti Syed Ibrahim, the schools’ principal. “For 36 years, NLPS has excelled in the field of education and known widely as an institution that gives its best, is competent and competitive. We have overcome challenges to become what we are today, and we are always ready to cater to all the educational needs of our children. The success and the reputation we enjoy have been made possible by you, our dear teachers, who work with us hand in hand,” she said.

Teachers from various branches of the school performed dances to enliven the event. Long service awards were presented to some of the teachers during the event.

The teachers, invited guests, and staff then enjoyed the dinner and many went home with lucky draw prizes.
