66 booths to be set up, famous ICT brands to showcase latest products — CSSA branch chief

MIRI: The organiser for Sarawak ICT Expo slated for Nov 30 to Dec 2 hopes the expo will be able to attract more visitors.

The expo is jointly organised by Computer Sales and Services Association Sarawak (CSSA) Miri branch and Miri City Council (MCC).

Sarawak ICT Unit from the Chief Minister’s Department is the co-sponsor of the expo.

CSSA Miri branch chairman Victor Kuan Wai Teck said the expo last year has successfully attracted more than 20,000 visitors.

“Normally, our expo is held in the middle of the month.

“But for this year, we specifically selected the date of payday in hope that members of the public can
bring more cash to the expo and buy the ICT products they are interested in,” he stated in a joint press conference with Miri mayor Lawrence Lai at MCC yesterday. The expo at Miri Indoor Stadium will be open to the public from 11am to 9pm.

“A total of 66 booths will be set up and famous ICT brands such as Asus, Toshiba, HP, Acer, Samsung, Canon, Xerox and Brothers will be showcasing their latest products and technology,” Kuan said.

Telekom Malaysia will be showcasing their latest broadband and telecommunication products and services during the expo.

Financial services and products will also be made available by a financial service company during the
expo to serve the needs of the public.

In addition, Sarawak ICT Unit will be sharing information with the public at their booths, to update the general public with the ICT services they provide.

“Members of the public are cordially invited to visit them to find out what services are available to assist you when dealing with government departments or agencies,” Kuan added.

Lucky draws will also be held.

A limited number of booths are still available for rent.
