SAD DAY: William’s parents Yau Kok Kang and Goh Ying Ying being escorted out of the hospital mortuary.

KUCHING: A partially-decomposed body of a boy was found entangled at the base of a boat, off a jetty near the Sri Perantau flats in Port Klang on Thursday night.

Passers-by spotted the body about 7.30pm and alerted the police.

A police source told the Oriental Daily that the body of the boy is decomposed beyond recognition and thus unable to confirm the identity until DNA results are out to make a conclusive identification.

However, police said they are 75 per cent sure the body is that of William Yau who went missing on Jan 16.

Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Yahaya Ramli said the boy’s parents identified the body based on the scars on the right forehead and at the back of the head as well as the shorts and underpants he wore.

The parents of William Yau Zhen Zhong arrived at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital Morgue around 11am to give samples for DNA testing to help determined and identify the body.

The post mortem has been completed.
