WARNING SHOTS: Gunshot marks on the window.

SIBU: Two gunshots were fired at the house of a businessman at Lane 4, Delta Housing Estate early yesterday when he, his wife and their children were at home.

Sibu police chief ACP Shafie Ismail, when contacted yesterday, confirmed the case.

“Initial investigation showed the 3.30am shooting was a warning as no one was injured,” he said.

Shafie said the 40-something house owner was engaged in oil palm business.

In his police report, the businessman said he was awakened by the loud sound during heavy rain at 3.30am.

A window on the first floor cracked after it was hit by the shots.

A forensics team from Kuching who happened to be in Sibu went to the scene at 9am.
