LIMBANG: The local branch of Sarakup Dayak Iban Sarawak (Sadia) and Public Service Commission (PSC) held a career briefing at the civic centre here recently.

Limbang MP Hasbi Habibollah officiated at the programme that was also attended by PSC Sarawak secretary Mohd Saiful Sungkih Abdullah.

In his speech, Hasbi said involvement of young people in the government development agenda was important for Sarawak to become a developed state by 2030.

“Seventeen years from now, our youths must improve their knowledge and skills to meet the manpower need, particularly with the implementation of Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE),” he said.

He commended Limbang Sadia and PSC for organising the programme, saying it was a good way to gather youngsters, especially from rural areas, to make online job applications.

Limbang Sadia chairman Jerry Saraie who spoke earlier said the programme was aimed to provide a platform for school leavers and fresh graduates from all races to get information on employment opportunities from PSC.

The participants were given tips and techniques to face a job interview by PSC staff.

About 250 people attended the one-day programme.
