Stop aid for electorate who backed opposition – Sindumin assemblyman

THE Barisan Nasional (BN) government has been urged to stop providing assistance, be it in the form of subsidy or welfare aid, to those who did not help return the BN government to power in the 13th General Election.

Making this call at the State Assembly sitting yesterday was Sindumin assemblyman, Ahmad Bujang.

He told the house that the BN government was blind to the status of the recipients of the various assistance it renders.

“BN doesn’t care whether the ones receiving are supporters of the government or not,” he said.

He then urged the government to take out the names of those who did not vote for the government from its list of assistance recipients.

“This is to be fair to those who helped give back the power to BN,” he said.

He added that those who voted for the opposition should be blacklisted as they were a loss to the government and did not deserve to receive any government assistance, either subsidies or any other welfare assistance.

“All their applications for welfare assistance should not be considered…those who voted for the opposition should go to them (for assistance),” he said.

“Our motive is not to seek revenge, but to put those who have been loyal to the government first,” he said.
