MIRI: A man in his 40’s and his teenage daughter escaped a head-on-collision with only minor injuries when their Proton Saga was involved in a collision with a lorry in Bekenu on Thursday afternoon.
The 1pm accident occurred at about 46km from Miri City, when the father was driving his daughter home to Kampung Rancah-Rancah, Bekenu from Miri, while the lorry headed from Bintulu to Miri.
Sources believe the man could have been drowsy at the wheel before realising his car had strayed into the opposite lane and crashed into the lorry laden with several gunny bags of fertilizer.
Both father and daughter were lucky to sustain only minor injuries when passers-by pulled over to help send both of them to Miri Hospital.
The lorry driver escaped with no injuries.
