BINTANGOR: The District Fire and Rescue Services (Bomba) Station organised a fire awareness and educational programme at Surau Daul Ikhsan here recently.
District Bomba chief Ismuni Tepo stressed that all households should be equipped with fire extinguishers.
“There is no reason we cannot equip our houses with fire extinguishers as they are affordable and can save lives
and properties. With a fire extinguisher at hand, we can put out a fire while it’s still small,” he pointed out.
Ismuni called for cooperation from the community such as helping look after the fire hydrants.
When putting up structures such as arches, the community should consider whether a fire engine can get through.
Among the 50 residents present at the function were Penghulu Abang Ahmad Zaini and community leaders.
