Bandar Seri Begawan: The public especially house owners / landlords are reminded to be careful with people who wish to rent their houses to avoid from being cheated by errant tenants, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.
One such unfortunate home owner was surprised to discover that her house in Kg Kulapis that was rented out was terribly damaged by the tenant, who left the house without prior informing her. She however did not disclose the identity and nationality of person or persons rented her house.
“I went to the house last Monday to collect the rent, and I was surprised to find that the house was empty and the windows and glasses were broken” said the home owner who wished to remain anonymous. “We tried to contact the person but the call went unanswered, and what made me sad is that their rent was overdue for three months and yet they moved out without notice and also damaged our property” she said.
She lodged a police report at the Sengkurong Police Station regarding the matter. She added that her intention approaching the local newspaper agency Borneo Bulletin was to share with the public her predicament and to remind them to be more careful of those who wish to rent their property.
