SIBU: Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee visited four retired teachers recently to show appreciation for their contribution to nation-building.
Among them was Hadiah Din who had taught in SMK St Elizabeth for some 32 years.
Hadiah had retired for more than 25 years.
“They have contributed towards producing human capital for the country,” Dr Annuar said of retired teachers.
He said he would make it a point to visit retired teachers every year during Teacher’s Day.
Sibu divisional education officer Wong Chung Kung accompanied Dr Annuar during the visits.
