KUCHING: SMK Hajah Laila Taib emerged with the best team performance at the MRC Stampin Chapter’s Inter Youth Unit dance competition held at the auditorium of SMK Kuching Town No 1 recently.
A total of six Malaysian Red Crescent Youth Units took part in the event organised by SMK Hajjah Laila Taib and assisted by SMK Kuching Town No. 1.
Besides promoting traditional Malaysian dances, a publicity release yesterday highlighted that this annual event was held with the purpose of strengthening the bond among members of the Chapter Youth Units from various schools.
Finishing behind SMK Hajah Laila Taib was SMK Sungai Tapang, followed by SMK Batu Lintang.
Meanwhile, SMK Bandar Kuching No. 1, SMK Kota Samarahan and SMK Asajaya received consolation prizes.
MRC Stampin Chapter chairman Chong Choon Chiang, who gave away the prizes to the winning teams, hoped more Red Crescent Youth Units will participate in the competition next year.
