JOHOR BAHARU: Persatuan Pemuda Puteri Melayu Bersatu (Perimau) lodged a police report yesterday, to prompt police to thoroughly investigate the ‘leak’ in this year’s UPSR examination papers.

Its chairman Mohd Ridhwan Othman said whoever was responsible for the crime must be brought to book.

He said the association lodged the report on behalf of teachers, parents and UPSR pupils disappointed and angry over the shameful act.

The primary school assessment papers in question were the English 014/1 and 014/2 and Science 018, 028, and 038.

“The incident has dented the integrity and dignity of public servants especially heads and staff of the Education ministry.

“We also object to parties questioning and faulting teachers when the culprits are individuals directly involved in handling public examinations such as the UPSR,” he told reporters at the Dato’ Onn police station here yesterday.

He said the association fully supports Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in any action to resolve the issue.

Accompanying Mohd Ridhwan were Pasir Gudang Umno Youth Religious and Education Bureau chairman Roszaidi Ramlee and Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Maju Jaya Parent-Teachers’ Association deputy head Mad Johan Jamian. — Bernama
