SANDAKAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman has advised the people to spend wisely and pay more attention to products with GST (Goods and Services Tax) and tax-exempt products.
The people should not be worried about the implementatation of GST which took effect on April 1, he said.
“The implementation of GST is one of the government policies that could bring positive outcome in future.
“With this GST implementation, people should educate themselves on products with GST and those without GST to prevent themselves from being manipulated by traders or shop operators,” he said during ‘Leader with the People’ gathering at Sungai Obar, here yesterday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Musa advised leaders to always carry out a walk-about and meet-the-people session in their respective areas.
“They (people) are the ones who have chosen us to be their leaders, so it is our duty to meet them and get to know their problems, apart from strengthening relationship between the people and leaders,” he added.
Meanwhile, Musa also approved the residents of Sungai Obar request for two units of air-condition and two units of speaker for Surau Al-Salam.
Also present at the ceremony were Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Zakaria Mohd Edris, State Wanita Umno chief Datuk Armani Haji Mahiruddin, President of Sandakan Municipal Council Datuk James Wong, and Sandakan Deputy Police chief Supt. Fadzil Mohd Ali.
