SARATOK: The fourth instalment of 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M 4.0) is not a Barisan Nasional (BN) political gimmick to fish for
votes because its disbursement is a sincere gesture of the government that really cares for the people.
Saratok MP Tan Sri William Mawan said the government will continue to care for the people despite some quarters belittling BR1M when invoking their propaganda to tarnish the government’s efforts.
The critics neither help nor provide assistance, said Mawan who is Social Development Minister when disbursing BR1M 4.0 vouchers to the lower income group in Saratok at Krian community hall on Friday.
A total of 2,112 recipients
from the district were listed for BR1M 4.0. In its fourth year, BR1M is divided into three categories, namely RM950, RM750 and RM350 and recipients could either encash vouchers or through their personal bank account.
Mawan, who is also Pakan assemblyman said BR1M is a testimony that the economy is encouraging and that the Malaysian leadership and government administration are stable.
The government also encouraged unity and urged people not to overindulge in activities that could destablised social development and national economy, he said.
