SERIAN: A man was shocked to stumble upon a human skull at a riverbank near Kampung Rituh Labuan here.
The skull was found on Thursday when he was resting near the river about 1.5km from the village, but kept the grim find to himself.
When he finally decided to tell his fellow villagers on the discovery, he was told to lodge a police report.
Police chief here, DSP Chung Aik Peng, confirmed receiving a report on the case and the skull has been sent to Serian Hospital for DNA testing.
In an unrelated case, a man was admitted to Sarawak General Hospital for ingestion of pesticide on Saturday night.
The 22-year-old man from Kampung Empila in Samarahan is said to be drunk when left abruptly and returned with a bottle.
His brother nearby tried to stop him but to no avail as the bottle was empty when he grabbed it.
The man’s condition was reported to be stable.
