KUCHING: A 38-year-old motorcyclist sustained hand and leg injuries during a morning accident near Taman Malihah off Jalan Matang here yesterday.

It is believed that the victim had just gone out of a junction and into the main road when he crashed into an oncoming car in the 7am incident.

The impact of the collision threw the motorcyclist forward, resulting in him hitting the front windshield of the car.

Witnesses immediately called Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), which despatched an ambulance to the scene.

The motorcyclist’s condition was reported to be stable, while the car driver only suffers minor injuries.

Another accident involving a motorcycle and a car also happened yesterday not far from the police academy (Pulapol) near Jalan Borneo Heights.

In the incident, a 41-year-old motorcyclist crashed into a car as the latter made a sudden U-turn.

The victim suffered a broken wrist and was brought later to SGH for treatment. The car driver, however, was unhurt.
