Sarawak’s largest premier mall, Vivacity Megamall, will open its doors to the public today, starting 10am until 10pm, with a wide array of exciting activities lined-up to commemorate this grand event.
KUCHING: Sarawak’s largest premier mall, Vivacity Megamall, will open its doors to the public today, starting 10am until 10pm, with a wide array of exciting activities lined up to commemorate this grand event.
With a gross floor area of 1.2 million square feet and a net lettable area of 820,000 square feet, this megamall will house more than 300 international, regional and local brands ranging from fashion, gadgets, sports gears, food and beverage (F&B), and entertainment segment across five floors of retail space.
The new premium mall is also divided into three atriums: East, Centre, and West Atriums.
Advertising and promotion executive of Coramax Mall Sdn Bhd, Iris Chan noted that Vivacity Megamall’s concept comes from the word ‘vivacity’ which means ‘lively and animated’.
Following a press tour of the mall yesterday, Chan pointed out that the mall’s tagline is “we add colours to retailing”.
Hence, the mall uses a myriad of colours in its interior design in a subtle manner to create an interesting ambience for shoppers.
Designed to create the ultimate shopping experience, revolved around sophistication, the new mall offers consumers a unique blend of fashion topped with youth-centric entertainment.
Stores such as Nando’s, TGV with iMAX, Pedro, Miss Selfridge, Swarovski, ICE Watch, Bonia, Antipodean, Tony Roma’s, Sushi Zanmai, and Mothercare are among the many new entrees into Sarawak.
Tenants such as MPH and Uniqlo are also placing their flagship outlets in Vivacity Megamall. Another feature to Vivacity Megamall is its 400 metre long alfresco or lifestyle dining area where all outlets will operate until midnight.
Vivacity Megamall is also equipped over 3,000 car parks, consisting of basement and multi-level carpark. It will also be equipped with a state of the art parking guidance system.
Chan said for the opening today, most of the tenants will be operational and there will be a wide array of activities hosted by these tenants.
Namely, anchor tenant Parkson will hold a grand opening ceremony with the mall today. In conjunction with the grand opening of Parkson, Hitzfm will host a special performance with celebrities such as Paperplane Pursuit and a Korean girl group.
A motorshow will also be held starting today until December 20, at Vivacity Megamall’s Exhibition Hall and Nando’s will also hold a special grand opening ceremony for its first outlet in
Sarawak.
Chan had also noted that most of Vivacity Megamall’s tenants will be holding special grand opening and Christmas/Year-End promotions.
The operating hours for Vivacity Megamall is from 10am to 10pm, daily, while stores at its alfresco will be operational until midnight.
