KOTA SAMARAHAN: A man narrowly escaped grievous injuries when the lorry he was driving crashed into the back of another lorry on the Kuching-Samarahan road here yesterday.
The 31-year-old was believed to have been on his way from the city to here when he lost control of his vehicle and up-ended another lorry and landed in bushes at the roadside at 1.49pm.
The victim was pinned in the driver’s seat and had to be extricated by Fire and Rescue (Bomba) personnel who rushed to the scene.
He suffered injuries on his leg and was sent to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
The battered Perodua Kancil after the Bau road accident with another car which left 11 people with light injuries, barring one with a broken leg.
In another accident, three people were injured while eight others were light casualties in an accident along the Bau-Batu Kawa road here on Sunday night.
A Perodua Kancil driven by a 48-year-old man with four passengers was on its way from Lundu down to Kuching when it collided with a Proton Saga coming in the opposite direction at around 8pm along Bau road near the Singai junction.
According to a source, the two vehicles then wound up in ditches at the road side.
Bomba personnel who rushed to the scene extricated all the victims.
A passenger of the Proton Saga suffered a broken leg while the female driver and four other passengers suffered light injuries.
The victims were sent to SGH for treatment.
