SIBU: The Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) is ready to swap their seats with Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) in the next state election.

SPDP president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing stressed that the swapping may involve several seats in Sibu and Sarikei.

“However, it can only be done if SUPP agrees to it. We are interested and planning by looking at the seats in Dudong, Pelawan, Meradong and Repok.

“This is because, we, SPDP, do not have seats in Sibu and Sarikei. That is why for the sake of Barisan Nasional (BN) we are considering swapping seats,” he pointed out when met during the SPDP Central Zone Chinese New Year 2016 Gathering held at Sibu Dewan Suarah today (Feb 14).

“If SUPP agrees to the swapping of seats, we will sit down to discuss the matter.

“This is the BN spirit. SPDP and SUPP can work together for the sake of BN,” he added.
