KUCHING: Eighty people from 19 families were still putting up at three shelters in Serian yesterday even though flood waters were receding.
State Civil Defence Department (JPAM) public relation officer Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim said the flood evacuees were at Koran multi-purpose hall (10 individuals from two families), Slabi Entungkuh multi-purpose hall (34 individuals from eight families) and Darul Hadhari Mosque in Kampung Rimba Padi (36 individuals from nine families).
Balai Raya Koran relief centre was opened on Saturday to cater for the two families affected by landslide that hit their homes. The flood evacuees at Slabi and Kampung Rimba Padi had been there since Sunday.
