KUCHING: United People’s Party (UPP) Batu Kawah branch has helped to remove a tall coconut tree that grew too close to the power transmission cable in Desa Wira.
Its chairman Liu Thian Leong mobilised a team of workers to chop down the tree near a commercial building in Desa Wira.
He made the arrangement after receiving a complaint from one of the shop owners there, said a press statement.
According to the complainant, the tall tree had grown too close to the cable that its leaves tended to fall onto the cable, causing power short-circuit.
The clearance work was completed on Wednesday.
