TANJUNG MANIS: Residents of Kampung Sebayang and Kampung Tusok near here will be linked to the rest of the state once the 4.2km Sebayang/Tanjung Manis road is completed.
When officiating at the launching of the RM6 million-project yesterday, BN Kuala Rajang candidate Datu Len Talif Salleh, said the road would provide an alternative mode of transport for residents of the two villages who had been moving around by river all this while.
He said the road would be ready soon because the project tender would be called this month, while the work would commence in June.
Len said the road would definitely bring great impact to the socio-economic of residents in the two villages.
For instance, the villagers would be able to send their children to SMK Belawai by a more convenient and safer land route compared to using river transport, he said.
Len also said the farming community in the area would be able to sell their produce to the nearest markets including the Tanjung Manis Halal Hub while the fishermen could also send their catches to Tanjung Manis to fetch better price.
On another subject, he reminded the villagers to wisely exercise their democratic rights come polling on May 7.
“Don’t believe in sweet promises dangled by the opposition as well as baseless allegation levelled against the BN. Vote for BN candidates to ensure continuous delivery of development projects.”
