KUALA LUMPUR: The Attorney-General’s Chambers found that no criminal offence had been committed by any Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officer in the case of the death of political aide, Teoh Beng Hock.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Nancy Shukri in her written reply in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday, said that the AG’s Chambers had studied the investigation papers and the report of the police Special Investigation Team on Teoh’s death.

Lawmaker Teo Nie Ching (DAP-Kulai) had wanted to know the decision of the AG after studying the papers on further investigations carried out by the special task force on Teoh’s death. On July 16, 2009, Teoh was found dead on the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam which housed the Selangor MACC headquarters.

Prior to this, Teoh had been called by the MACC to record his statement in connection with a case of alleged misuse of public funds. — Bernama
