SARATOK: Villagers of Kampung Kupang Hulu, Kampung Kupang Tengah and Kampung Kupang Hilir in Saratok want Bajau road in their area to be upgraded and tar-sealed.
“It’s not so much for the coming Hari Raya, but for the convenience and comfort of daily use of the road.
“In an emergency like rushing pregnant woman in labour, or sending critically ill patients to hospital, a good road is essential,” they explained.
According to the villagers, Bajau road is also without street lights.
They lamented that not much had been done since they last urged the authorities to repair and upgrade the road many years back.
“Our alternative is to use the Krian river in emergency cases.
“It is very challenging to manoeuvre along the crocodile-infested Krian river at night.
“With the road in such deplorable condition, a call for an ambulance service may even be considered too much,” they suggested.
