KUALA LUMPUR: The father of popular actress Emma Maembong was slashed in a robbery attempt at his house in Jalan Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, here today.
Kuala Lumpur Police CID chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa said the victim, Ismail Embong,68, was alone at home at 4pm when visited by a man armed with a parang.
“The man then demanded the victim to hand over valuables and money but the victim resisted and a scuffle ensued.
“In the scuffle, the victim was slashed in the hand and head and fled to a neighbour’s house for help,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
Rusdi said the man fled the scene. A neighbour took the victim to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.
The loss is being investigated. The case is investigated under Section 397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery.–Bernama
