Christmas gifts for patients in Keningau, Tambunan

KENINGAU: A group of leaders from the Keningau Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) lparliamentary area organized a charity visit and distributed Christmas gifts such as hampers to more than 100 patients at Keningau Hospital ward here yesterday.

The charity visit, made in conjunction with the Christmas Day celebration this year, was led by Tambunan PBS deputy chief Datul Daniel Kinsik who is also political secretary to the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water.

When met by reporters, Daniel said the charity visit was the party’s an annual event.

He said previously the visit and distribution of contribution was led by PBS president and Deputy Chief Minister cum Minister of Infrastructure Development, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan.

“I hope this visit and donations could cheer up the patients who cannot celebrate this Christmas with their families.

“PBS is very attentive to the needs and welfare of patients who are in hospital and hope that the Christmas gifts would bring the spirit of Christmas to them although they do not get the chance to ce;lebrate with their families at home,” he said.

He also said that the giving of donations to patients would continue and this as one of the concerns of PBS especially its president who wanted to see them happy and feet the Christmas feel in hospital.

According to Daniel, donations were presented to 90 patients at the Tambunan Hospital yesterday afternoon.

Also involved in the visit were political secretary to the Ministry of Infrastructure Development Welfredoline Jakil, Bingkor PBS chief Peter Jino Allion, Keningau Chinese Chamber of Commerce ptrdifrmt Raymond Koh, Keningau parliamentary liaison officer  Augustine Nain, Tambunan Community Development Leader Sylverius Bruno, Keningau  Hospital Visitors Board chairman Koh Kiah, Bingkor and women and youth leaders of Tambunan PBS.
