SIBU: Policeman Radzani Rasit was among the non-Chinese who took part in the Chinese calligraphy event run by the United Chinese Associations (UCA) Sibu Division at UniCity (Jalan Wawasan) here on Sunday.

The event, held in conjunction with UCA Sibu Division’s 40th anniversary and Visit Sibu Year 2017, aimed to enter the Malaysia Book of Records in the ‘Largest Chinese Calligraphy Event’ category and also the Guinness World Record in the ‘Largest Calligraphy Lesson’ category.

This was the first time Radzani and his wife Shamsiah Zabar took part in Chinese calligraphy writing.

“I am excited with this Chinese calligraphy writing. Some Chinese characters are easy to write, while others are not so easy.

“Anyway, I really enjoy practising it with my wife. It took us six minutes to complete the eight Chinese characters.

“We just follow the organisers on which Chinese characters to write in the calligraphy. We feel great in learning to write Chinese calligraphy,” he enthused.

Radzani added that he was overjoyed to be able to join such as big event.
