TAWAU: The SEA Games Kuala Lumpur 2017 Tawau district level Torch Run was held on Monday night starting from the Tawau Sports Complex and ending at Tawau Municipal Council (TMC) car park compound.
The event, organized by Tawau Youth and Sport Department (Federal) was flagged-off by Tawau Municipal Council deputy president Aftar Nurujat at 9pm.
Forty torch runners took turns carrying the SEA Games torch along the Kuhara Road as they were accompanied by about 200 runners and flag bearers.
Traffic policemen controlled the traffic as the torch run slowly made its way to the TMC car park after which the SEA Games torch was handed to Resource and Information Technology Development Assistant Minister Datuk Hamisa Samat.
From there the run will continue in Sandakan on the next day.
