Final-year Fajar students get to feel real life working experience at Awan Inspirasi

MIRI: A total of 105 final year students from Fajar International College’s Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health were given an opportunity to get a feel of real-life working scenario in the field on June 12 and 13 at Awan Inspirasi Sdn Bhd during an industrial visit.

The students were divided into three groups, and led by a staff of the college.

The objective of the visit was to give them an opportunity to gain knowledge on how safe work procedures are practised in the daily operation of the aviation industry, and to get an insight of the nature of aviation business which provides offshore helicopter service – transporting workers to offshore rigs for various oil and gas companies.

The students were briefed by the health, environment, safety and security manager Chieng Kai Soon, and were also exposed to the 12 elements of Awan Inspirasi Safety Management System which ensures the highest level of safety, health, environmental, quality and security performance.

Industrial visit is an important component in Fajar International College, especially for its Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health students, which is the only such diploma recognised by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia and Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), UK.
