KUCHING: Eight places of worship comprising seven churches and a surau within Serumbu constituency have received a total of RM1.26 million in Special Development Assistance Fund (SDAF) from assemblyman Miro Simuh.
Miro presented the grants during a function at Kampung Skandis Baru in Bau over the weekend.
The recipients were St Thomas More Catholic Church, Kpg Kandis Baru, Bau (RM300,000), St Peter Damian Catholic Church, Kpg Seromah, Bau (RM300,000), St Elizabeth Catholic Church, Kpg Sogo, Bau (RM100,000), St Andrew Catholic Church, Kpg Sega, Bau (RM100,000), The Anglican Church of Ascension, Kpg Sungai Pinang, Bau (RM60,000), Holy Family Catholic Church, Kpg Podam, Bau (RM200,000), Surau Darul Hidayah, Kpg Melayu Siniawan Baru, Bau (RM100,000) and Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church, Kpg Belimbin, Krokong Bau (RM100,000). Miro urged the recipients to utilise the money to develop their faith community.
