SIBU: An emergency drill was conducted at Lanang Bridge here yesterday using the scenario of an oil tanker involved in a road accident at a roadside fruit stand.
The drill was organised by Song Transport Company Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with the police, Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), Civil Defence Force and Sibu Hospital.
Song Transport Company Sibu branch manager Joyce Lai said the annual drill was to test the company’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) in the event of an emergency.
“The drill benefited our company as well as other parties,” she said.
About 50 persons took part in the drill, which began around 9.30am and ended at 10.45am.
