SIBU: The Electrical and Electronic Association of Malaysia (TEEAM) places importance on maintaining strong and good relationship with state associations to stand as a united force.

Stating this TEEAM president Ir Yong Ah Huat said this was to ensure healthy progress and development of the electrical and electronic industry.

“We look forward to Electrical Association of Sarawak and Sabah (EASS)’s continued close working relationship and sharing of views and recommendations to facilitate healthy growth of the industry.

“Electrical safety is a great concern for all of us and we have read too many cases of electrocution in relation to water heaters, household installation and faulty applicances,” he said when addressing the EASS’s 39th anniversary celebration dinner at a leading hotel here on Friday night.

Yong said RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker) is a device that could detect and measure current leakage and prevent electrical accidents from happening.

With this in mind, he said TEEAM has launched a nationwide self-test RCCB awareness campaign to educate the public on testing their RCCB regularly to ensure the device is in good working condition.

“We hope that EASS can emulate such safety campaign in Sarawak to reach out to the public and educate them on electrical safety,” he said.

On TEEAM, Yong said his side would celebrate their 68th anniversary this year on Sept 29 in Kuala Lumpur.

While inviting EASS and other state members to support and join the occasion, he said the event would provide excellent networking opportunities for business entities and also excellent exposure and market information exchange.

He said on Mar 9 to 14, TEEAM is organising members’ participation in ELECRAMA 2018, a premier electrical power engineering exhibition in New Delhi, India.

“We encourage members to take up the Hosted Buyers incentive of free air ticket and three nights’ hotel accommodation in New Delhi.

“Application is still open and State members may contact the TEEAM secretariat for details.”
