Motorists can now use the road.

KUCHING: The Serian – Sri Aman road is now fully accessible after the damaged stretch at Kilometre 81.2 to Sri Aman was repaired.

The Pan Borneo Highway project team also removed a big log stuck at the inlet at about 4pm today, which could be the cause of the flooding that damaged the road.

Lebuhraya Borneo Utara Sdn Bhd (LBU), through its Facebook page ‘Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak’, constantly updates users of the latest situation at the road stretch.

It was earlier reported that motorists were stranded this morning after the route was inundated with two feet of water following heavy downpour since yesterday.

As of 10am, flood waters have receded and the contractors involved with the project build a slight detour to facilitate traffic flow.

Remedial works are still taking place at the site.

LBU advised motorists using the Pan Borneo Highway to constantly check the Facebook page for any developments regarding the project.
