KAPIT: Kapit District Council (KDC) officially denied and clarified that the council was never in any way involved in the WhatsApp group ‘Rise of Sarawakian’.
“The council would not and never allowed any quarters to use its logo in their WhatsApp group to attract public attention because that would tarnish the image of the government agency,” KDC secretary Jabang Juntan told The Borneo Post here yesterday.
Jabang said this when responding to a WhatsApp group which called itself ‘Rise of Sarawkian’ and using the KDC logo to call for NCR land owners to support the ‘Rally NCR 2.0 in Sibu on Sept 15 this year’.
He added that the group should apologise publicly to KDC for illegally using the council’s logo to mislead the people.
The council has also lodged a police report on the matter yesterday.
