IBS College holds 16th graduation do

MIRI: IBS College, a private institution of business and management held its 16th  graduation ceremony at Mega Hotel here yesterday.

Twenty-two graduands received Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) awarded by Twintech International University College of Technology (Twintech), alongside 15 who were conferred Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Accounting and Finance and another six graduated with Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Business Administration from UCSI University.

A total of 82 students received Diploma in Business Administration while eight were presented with Certificate in Business. Jackson Jalee Anak Gawong was the sole graduand with Diploma in Security and Safety Management.

In his opening address, its president and principal Dr Antony Hii said the college has grown into a global college with MyQuest Six-Star ranking offering 10 academic programmes from diploma to master’s level.

“The success of IBS College is testament of the commitment, sincerity and hard work of both the management and staff in providing quality and affordable education,” he said.

He said IBS graduates recorded 95 per cent employment and partnership with UCSI University, Twintech International University College of Technology and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) allows the college to offer programmes with affordable tuition fees locally with RM3 million in scholarships and sponsorships given.

He added that IBS is giving sponsorship to diploma graduates who register for advanced diploma programme (RM5,000); RM4,000 for degree programmes and  RM3,000 for master’s programmes.

In his speech, Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting who was the guest-of-honour, advised the graduands to pursue life-long education with new knowledge and skills to face the ever-changing world of business and technology as learning does not end with graduation.

The ceremony saw Roselind Phua Sze Ling and Queena Lau Jun conferred first class in Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Finance while Chee Ai Fong, Colin Chua Wei Lee, Lily Wong Hui Li and Monica Thye Lok San were awarded first class in Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in International Business by Twintech.

Cynthia Lim achieved first class honours in the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Accounting and Finance awarded by UCSI University.

Also present were Prof Dr Tengku Abdul Aziz Tengku Zainal vice chancellor of Twintech, Prof Dr Ooi Keng Boon dean of the Faculty of Business and Information Science of UCSI University, local school principals and counsellors.
