MIRI: A new state seat called Permyjaya should be set up and allocated to Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) to represent the  interest of Bumiputeras here in the next state election.

At the moment Miri has three state seats – Senadin and Piasau (SUPP) and Pujut (DAP).

According to a veteran politician, Hasnan Ahmad, the Bumiputeras here have for years been wanting to have a  ‘Permyjaya’ seat for PBB to look after the interest of the Bumiputeras.

He added this was necessary because PBB had so many branches and sub-branches in Senadin, Pujut and Piasau.

Hasnan said he had received many feedback from the Malays, Ibans and Orang Ulus living in the city wanting to support the GPS government, and what better option for them is to vote a PBB candidate.

“There are many potential candidates here including lawyers, doctors and even successful businessmen qualified to be picked and represent PBB in Permyjaya.

“We want to have a voice representing the interest of Bumiputteras in Miri. Hopefully, the GPS leadership can reconsider our request.”

Senadin and Piasau are represented by Datuk Lee Kim Shin and  Datuk Sebastian Ting respectively while Pujut is represented by Dr Ting Tiong Choon.
