MARUDI: Construction of the Marudi bridge across Batang Baram at Kuala Ridan is progressing well, with the pilling works to start most likely next week and it is a matter of time for the culvert design to be completed.

The contractor’s project coordinator Tiong Hock Yiok said this when inspecting the project site yesterday.

According to him, they are now waiting for the piling materials from Kuala Lumpur, which they expect to receive the latest by Sept 15.

He added the preliminary works such as clearing the diversion had been done without any hitch.

He thanked the public for their understanding and support for the project.

Construction works at the site are going at a heavy pace now.

Present during the site visit were project manager William Chan, sub-contractor Peter Hee and others officers.
