KUCHING: The Sarawak Land and Survey Department won the Public Service Innovation Award (PSIA) category at Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2020 held at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur from Feb 20 to 22.
The three innovation projects, namely Power4Fields – Portable Power Supply, Mobile Land and Survey Information System and Sarawak Virtual 3D City, were each awarded PSIA gold medal.
Chief secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali presented the awards during a PSIA presentation ceremony.
The department’s participation in strategic cooperation with Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) was presented by a team of 10 officers led by senior surveyor Ramzi Abdillah.
MTE 2020 is a platform to showcase innovations to the public featuring 305 innovations from 150 participants comprising civil service organisations, production companies and technology firms, institutions of higher learning, researchers and schools including participation from Croatia, Poland, the United Kingdom, Iran, Taiwan and Indonesia.
For the PSIA category, a total of 30 projects involving 15 public service organisations competed for top honours. Besides Sarawak Land and Survey Department projects, five other innovation projects by other organisations also received gold medals while 10 organisations received silver and 12 organisations received bronze.
