KUCHING: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) is not charging parking fees for all areas within its jurisdiction during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period until March 31.
A statement issued by the director of DBKU confirmed this, adding that motorists who have not settled their overparking notices issued between March 16 and 18 will have up to April 3 to make the payments.
“For information, no parking fee is imposed until March 31, 2020. All motorists who have not paid their overparking fees for notices issued between March 16 and 18, 2020 are given extension to pay until April 3, 2020,” said the statement dated March 19.
Its counterpart Kuching South City Council (MBKS) also made a similar announcement yesterday.
The MCO enforced from March 18 to 31 is the government’s effort to curb the spread of Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19).
