Firemen put out the fire at the plantation workers’ quarters.
SIBU: Fire gutted a workers’ quarters at a plantation in Sungai Sepuak, Dijih, Selangau near here on Saturday night leaving 13 people homeless.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department Operation Centre the victims comprising 11 men and two women were all Indonesians.
A distress call was received at 11.05 am yesterday and a team of firemen was deployed to the scene.
“Arriving at the scene, firemen found the workers’ quarters was completely razed.
According to one of the victims the fire broke out at 10pm.
