MIRI (March 2): Police have arrested a 29-year-old woman yesterday for allegedly stealing a pair of slippers worth RM12 from a mini mart here.
The suspect, a local was nabbed at around 6.30pm at a rented room in Taman Jade Manis here.
The suspect’s arrest came following a police report lodged by a sales assistant who witnessed the suspect stealing a pair of slippers inside the mini mart which is located at Jalan Lee Tak.
The sales assistant was unable to apprehend the suspect at the time as she was occupied with other customers.
District police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari when contacted confirmed the arrest.
Police are investigating the case under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.
