Covid-19: New Sungai Rayah Cluster detected in Meradong

KUCHING (May 14): The Sarawak Health Department today declared one new Covid-19 cluster dubbed the Sungai Rayah Cluster in Meradong which is a community cluster.

It involved a longhouse at Sungai Rayah, Bintangor with 13 individuals tested positive for Covid-19 out of 50 individuals screened.

All those who tested positive have been admitted into the Sarikei Hospital and the Sarikei and Meradong quarantine and low-risk patients treatment centre (PKRC).

All close contacts have been identified and given quarantine orders.

At the same time, SDMC also announced the end of Jalan Sultan Iskandar Cluster in Bintulu after no new cases were recorded from the cluster in the last 28 days.

Meanwhile, the state has 83 active clusters, with 12 continued to report 65 new Covid-19 cases today.

The clusters that reported new cases were Sungai Rayah Cluster in Meradong with 12 cases, Jalan Limbang Cluster in Miri (11), Jalan Lilin Cluster in Miri (10), Jalan Stadium Negeri Cluster in Kuching (7), Jalan Agama Cluster in Miri (6), Melugu Cluster in Sri Aman (5), Sebujok Cluster in Sri Aman (4), Emperan Cluster in Selangau (3), Sungai Ranan Cluster in Kanowit (3), Beladin Cluster in Pusa (2), Jalan Selirik Cluster in Kapit (1) and Jalan Sawit Cluster in Sarikei (1).
