56 compounds issued for violating SOPs

KOTA KINABALU: Fifty-six compounds were issued to individuals throughout Sabah on Wednesday, for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP).

Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun also said 124 roadblocks were conducted in the past 24 hours involving 50,053 vehicles with 219 motorists ordered to turn back.

“The compounds were issued to individuals for not wearing face mask or not wearing properly (17), carrying overloaded passengers (6), failed to register while entering premises (10), going in and out of EMCO localities (10), failure to prepare registration book or MySejahtera QR Code (1), operating premises without approval (2) and crossing districts without permit (3).

“Local authorities throughout the state also inspected 1,847 premises and three warning notices were issued in Sipitang (1) and Tambunan (2),” he said.

In the city centre, Masidi said City Hall had conducted enforcement of the SOP compliance at 92 premises and 103 individuals in 18 areas.

One compound was issued in Lintas Square for failing to register while entering a gadget premises, but no compound was issued to the shop.
