The suspect was arrested at a house in Kampung Muhibbah Kuala Baram on Sunday.
MIRI (May 16): A 34-year-old man was arrested by the police for allegedly stealing RM1,200 from his mother’s bedroom at a house in Kampung Muhibbah Kuala Baram here yesterday.
District police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the victim had lodged police a police report after discovering that the money had gone missing after her son ransacked her bedroom.
It is learned that the suspect had entered her bedroom when she was drying clothes at around 7am.
Acting on information received, a police team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested the suspect at the house at around 1.30pm.
The suspect was taken to Miri Central police station lock-up for further investigation under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft.
