SIBU (Nov 11): Police have arrested a man suspected to be involved in a housebreaking at the Rantau Panjang housing area here yesterday.
A post on the IPD Sibu Facebook page said the suspect was apprehended at around 4.30pm by a mobile patrol vehicle (MPV) and motorcycle patrol unit (URB).
“The suspect is believed to have broken into a house in the area before trying to flee.
“He climbed over the fence to the house next door and hid in the toilet upstairs after the occupants realised his presence.
“Police managed to locate his whereabouts and arrested him,” said the post.
The suspect is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking.
The post added that the arrest showed the police’s efficiency in maintaining security and peace in the local community.
