KUCHING (Nov 18): The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) participated in the Karnival Celik Kewangan held from Nov 15-17 at Vivacity Megamall, here.
Organised by Bank Negara Malaysia under the Financial Education Network (FEN) initiative, the event aimed to raise awareness about financial literacy, empower communities, and highlight the importance of financial management.
As part of the programme, MTA also hosted the Takaful4All Fun Run 2024 on Nov 17.
With over 500 participants joining the 5KM run around Vivacity Megamall, the event promoted the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle while emphasising the role of Takaful.
Sponsored by Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad, the run successfully combined elements of health and financial awareness.
“The Takaful4All Fun Run reflects our vision of inspiring Malaysians to prioritise their health while securing their financial future through Takaful solutions,” said Prudential BSN Takaful CEO Wan Saifulrizal Wan Ismail.
Throughout the three-day Karnival Celik Kewangan, MTA attracted numerous visitors by introducing various Takaful products, including affordable options like Perlindungan Tenang.
Visitors gained insights into how Takaful can enhance financial management, with practical advice tailored to community needs.
The carnival concluded on Nov 17 with a closing ceremony officiated by Bank Negara Malaysia deputy governor Adnan Zaylani Mohamad Zahid.
The event underscored the collective commitment of industry players to improving financial literacy and the well-being of Malaysians, particularly the local community and across the nation.
MTA also organised Pocket Talk sessions to educate the public on the role of Takaful in ensuring financial stability.
The first session on Nov 15, titled “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire – The Importance of Protection in Life”, was led by Syuhaib Ithnin, Head of the mySalam Protection Scheme at Great Eastern Takaful Berhad. It emphasised the value of financial protection and how Takaful helps create a more secure financial future.
The second session, “Sembang Santai Takaful: Rilek…Takaful Kan Ada”, held on Nov 17, featured panelists sharing real-life scenarios that illustrated how Takaful acts as a safety net in times of uncertainty.
During its time in Sarawak, MTA successfully conducted various initiatives with the local community.
These included the Takaful Masuk Kampung program in Kampung Samariang Batu, a T’Talk session with the MTA CEO, the launch of the MTA+ Kenyalang Chapter, and the Shape Your Future #FitFinances 3.0 program in Lundu.
These efforts reflect MTA’s commitment to engaging with and empowering communities through awareness and the benefits of Takaful.
Through its active involvement in the Karnival Celik Kewangan, MTA reaffirmed its commitment to spreading financial literacy, promoting Takaful as an essential protection tool, and fostering a culture of financial management responsibility among Malaysians.
